TOP 10 UPCOMING RACING GAMES (2018) FOR (XB1/ PS4/ PC)

Here is the list of the top racing games coming this 2018 on Xboxone, Playstation4 & PC.

                           

1. DAKAR 18

Dakar, the crazy, dangerous endurance rally, is getting an official PS4 game later this year. The announcement trailer popped up on PlayStation's Youtube channel today, featuring a variety of vehicles and environments, and it certainly looks interesting.

The game is being developed by Bigmoon Entertainment and will be published by Deep Silver. For those who may not have heard of Bigmoon Entertainment, its previous games, including Lichdom Battlemage and Alekhine's Gun, were widely panned by critics and players alike. However, the developer does also have a fair amount of experience with racing games, having worked on WRC 3 and 5, as well as FlatOut 4.

As for DAKAR 18 itself, Bigmoon is working in tandem with ASO (Amaury Sports Organisation) and real-world competitors to make the game as authentic as possible. Real drivers and vehicles will be included, as well as a gigantic open world South America you'll need to navigate through. Vehicles are split into five categories, as seen in the real world event, and include bikes, ATVs, cars, trucks, and SxS (utility vehicles). The developer's aim is simulation, so different vehicle classes will control very differently from one another. The game will feature single player and multiplayer modes.

There isn't a whole lot to go on, and Bigmoon has a pretty sketchy portfolio, but perhaps a big license such as Dakar will see a step up in quality. It certainly sounds ambitious.

2. TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge

For motorbike racing fans, few races are put on a higher pedestal than the treacherous TT Isle of Man, a race which has been running for more than a century and is widely considered one of the most dangerous motorsport events in the world. 

Now you can avoid all that danger and enjoy the race from the comfort of your own home with TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge From the folks who brought us WRC, it promises to be a painstakingly accurate simulation of the real event, at speeds upwards of 180MPH.

Ah, it's like a timewarp back to 2014. TT Isle of Man's system requirements is very reasonable indeed, covering the gamut from low-end to modern mid-range rigs.

 Most should have little problem running TT Isle of Man at stable frame rates, although some decent horsepower is necessary if you want to crank the graphics slider all the way up to Ultra.

On the minimum end, a DirectX 11-capable graphics card with at least 1GB VRAM should see you through, paired with a low-end dual-core processor from the past decade.

There's a considerable jump up to the Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge's recommended specs, but any modern build should be more than capable of meeting these specs. For Ultra / 1080p you'll be needing a fairly solid GPU with at least 2GB VRAM. For modern variants look towards the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 570.
